Welcome to the SEHS Guitar Class Page!

Learning to play guitar is fun. You can learn to play for your own enjoyment or to play with a group. In this class, students are encouraged to learn the anatomy of the guitar and how to play individual notes and chords. No prior musical training is necessary. The school was granted 18 guitars for class use. The guitar class students will need a guitar at home to practice. 

In Guitar 1, students are introduced to the acoustic guitar and the first hand position for notes and chords. We use the Essential Elements Guitar Method book to get us started, but other resources are introduced throughout the school year.

The guitar class is offered for multiple years. Students can take one level of Guitar Class each year of high school.
